ManeReel is a show-season journal for riders and their families. Your ribbons, your horses, your rides — they're yours. This page says, in plain words, what the app stores and what we do (and don't do) with it.
What ManeReel collects
- Your account email address and a password (handled by our sign-in provider, never visible to us in plain text).
- Your date of birth, asked once at signup — used only to keep riders under 14 from opening their own account (see "Children" below).
- What you put in the app: rider and horse profiles, show entries and results, ribbons, your ride schedule and journal notes, and the photos and videos you add.
- Diagnostic logs, only if you choose to send them to us when something goes wrong.
That's the list. ManeReel has no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs. We never sell your data, and we never will.
Where it lives
- Supabase hosts sign-in and the database, in Canada (Toronto region).
- PowerSync keeps the copy on your phone and the database in step, so the app works offline at the show grounds.
- Cloudflare R2 stores your photos and videos. Files are private to your account and fetched only through short-lived signed links.
Ribbon text and photo cutouts are recognized on your phone itself (on-device machine learning) — those images are not sent to anyone for processing.
Sharing — only what you choose
Nothing is shared unless you join a team and share it. Even then, teammates see only shared show entries, ribbons, the team schedule, and a curated profile. Your ride schedule, ride notes, photos and videos, progress stats, and date of birth stay yours alone — no teammate, and no other ManeReel user, can see them.
Children
Riders under 14 cannot open their own ManeReel account — the app checks date of birth at signup and stops there. Family accounts, where a parent holds the account and manages profiles for younger riders, are on the way.
Deleting your data
Email us at kevinl@digivert.ca from your account address and we'll delete your account and everything in it — profiles, results, media, all of it. Deletion built into the app and this website is coming.
Your rights
ManeReel is made in Canada and follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — same address as above, and we'll answer promptly.
